The Finnish advance in Northern Finland continues. The Germans try to retake Tornio on the Gulf of Bothnia and are using artillery and dive bombers against the Finns. The Finns had to give up some ground. In the recently bombed Dortmund - Ems canal 33 barges barges lying on the bottom have been counted. Naval carrier borne aircraft now use rockets to take off with little wind with greater speed and heavier loads. Goebbels announced party restrictions. Certain Nazi papers will be suspended. The Russians crosses the Hungarian frontier in their advance from Arad and have captured 100 places on Hungarian soil. A court of French Generals will try Marshall Petain together with 54 members of the French Government. Petain will be charged with treason and collaboration. Paul Winterton reported from Moscow on German atrocities he saw in Estonia. A special correspondent of the Times has written about German looting in Florence where o.a. pictures of Dürer, Rembrandt and van Dyck have gone. Mr. Winston Churchill intervened
