Planning Bill. He said he spoke in the
name of the Cabinet and that we have to
keep together. Labour wanted the Bill
carried which Liberal supported.
The difficulties were about compensation
clauses. In a special sitting on Monday
this last clause will be discussed.
He also said that Liberal, Conservative
and Labour blood will have to be shed
in the next few months.

There is no late news about the new Canadian
attack across the Leopold Canal but
early this morning 3 bridgeheads were
secured. In Western Holland the Canadians
are pressing the Germans back from
the South and the British from the East.
Stiff fighting takes place around
Tilburg. Barges and motor convoys
were shot up in Holland and the
Rhineland. The Americans pressed
deeper into the Siegfried line near Aachen.
Southeast of Aachen more German
planes were seen than usual. 25 were
destroyed. Gains were also made beyond
