Dalmatian islands continue to shell the Yugoslav mainland. The Germans report hard fighting in the area of Belgrade and after taking Pancsova Russian troops are less than 8 miles from the city. Tito's forces are active south of Belgrade but the Russians are nearest to the capital. The Germans report 3 new Russian moves viz. one attack from a bridgehead on the Narew between Warsaw and the Southern frontier of East Prussia also a large scale attack in Northern Lithuania and a landing on the island of Ösel. Moscow confirms the landing and says the Russians secured a bridgehead 25 miles wide and 15 miles deep. From the Carpathian heavy rain and the first fall of snow is reported. The South of Greece is almost clear of the Germans. The port of Patras is in serviceable condition. Half a dozen miles east of Patras another port has been taken. More Allied reinforcements have been landed. The Germans try to get away across the Gulf of Corinth. We have accepted the surrender of a Greek security battalion. German guns captured at Patras have been turned and are being used against them.
