and the Germans a mass evacuation of Warsaw has begun. The underground forces have been without water for weeks and also without medical supplies. Strong Soviet forces have landed on the Estonian island of Dagö. There is little change to report from Italy today. Weather in the Adriatic 8th Army sector is still bad and our air forces were kept grounded. German forces are getting out of Crete by night and by air and half the garrison has already left. Frank Philips introduced the war reports. The first by the Commander of the 1st British Airborne Division which landed at Arnhem and who said that he hoped to join up with the British Second Army in 3 to 4 days at the latest. 2nd. Robert Reed with the American 1st Army about Russian labourers in Belgian coalmines who escaped and fought as a brigade of Russian partisans some 400 strong. The reports were concluded with one about the crossing of a river in Italy which was given by an Indian officer.
