John Nickson [?] from Cairo about the capture of the Greek island of Kythira with a population of 9000. Light British naval forces prepared the landing. Winfred Thomas reported .................[?] from the Alsace. In the Belfort gap there are prepared positions. The battle fro Belfort will be a hard one. Third report on the German jet propelled aircraft. M.E. 262 which is a fighter and which is not seen in large numbers. It is also fitted with 2500 lbs bombs and has a speed of 500 miles. It is fitted with jets and a jet lasts an hour. It also has a high rate climb.

2/10/1944. 12.= pm. Grisewood

The battle north of Aachen is going well and the Americans are well across the railway running north of the town. American artillery blasted 2 pathways 600 yards wide. The 1st Army also operated with armour near Sittard. The Western flank of the British salient in Holland has been extended. The counterattacks slung back were northeast of Nancy. After finding an underground aircraft factory recently we now found an underground ammunition factory in the Alsace.
