North Sea to the Mediterranean which is 600 miles wide. There has been a 24 hours' fight for Dijon. General Eisenhower has been in Brussels with General Montgomery. Micheal Reynolds said that north and west of Florence big advances have been made. 1500 tons of supplies coming from Austria have been destroyed. The Russian broadened their thrusts toward the Transylvanian Alps. They captured 200 places. In their advance into Bulgaria the Russians captured 2 German Generals which brings the total this summer to 43. Near Launsche [?] 30 more places have been taken and Soviet troops are 2 1/2 miles from Launsche [?] itself. USA submarines have again sunk 9 Japanese supply vessels. Beaufighters attacked a German convoy of minesweepers. We are 16 miles from the Belfort gap.
