attacked shipping off the Norwegian
coast and in and near Trondheim
Fjord. The planes were launched from 2
carriers which were closely escorted by
6 destroyers. Neither ships or planes
suffered damage or were there
casualties. Mines were also laid.
In Burma British 14th Army troops
have captured the key village of
Tedim 50 miles inside Burma.
This as a good position to strike deep
into Burma. 1 mile beyond Tedim
our troops are still in contact
with the Japanese. In the pocket south
of the Scheldt German resistance is
weakening and going to an end.
1 column is only 1 1/2 miles from
Breskens and another only 1/2 a mile
from Oostburg. German mortar and
artillery fire has fallen off in intensity
and are troops are meeting only
sporadic machine gunfire. In the
wooded country north of the causeway
