British fighter bombers are now flying from
Greek airfields. The special sitting of the House
of Commons finished off the Town and
Country Planning Bill. An hour ago
Mr. Attlee announced that Mr. Churchill
and Mr. Eden had arrived in Moscow by
air. They have come to have conversations
with Mr. Stalin and Mr. Molotov.
The U.S.A. Government has approved
the meeting and the U.S. ambassador
in Moscow Mr. Harriman will be
present. Only 14 days ago Mr. Churchill
arrived back from Quebec. Mr. Churchill
and Mr. Eden were met at the airfield
by Mr. Molotov, Maisky and Vyshinsky.
At 2 o'clock last night the Canadians
made an attack behind the German
lines from the Ghent - Terneuzen canal
and the inlet of the Scheldt (Braakman).
Whilst preparations were made for this
first all army amphibious operation
in Europa RAF planes screened the area
so that by their noise the Germans
would not know what was going to
