leaving many big fires burning. Apart from Russian air attacks on East Prussia this is the first Russian attack on the German mainland since the autumn of 1942. The Finns took a port on the top of the Gulf of Bothnia near the Swedish border and took 500 German prisoners. The Germans admit the raid on Breslau but do not say it was made by Russian planes. The port of Nauplion in the Eastern Peloponnese has been taken. There have been personal difficulties between Nahas Pasja and King Farouk. The English paper from the great national ones to the small provincial ones publish columns from Friday to today with the declaration by Prof. Gerbrandy which he gave to journalists about the things the Germans do in Holland.

Mr. Churchill and Mr. Eden have arrived in Moscow. The Canadians made a river landing behind the German pocket in the Scheldt estuary. The Americans are pushing on between Metz and Nancy. Escorted Flying Fortresses and Liberators
