of Niš. Japanese shipping in Far Eastern waters has suffered further blows when U.S. submarines sank 11 ships. Planes based in China have sunk a ship in the Formosa Straits. Makassar has also been attacked. In Parliament today Mr. Churchill paid tribute to the heroic stand of the Poles in Warsaw. He said the fall of Warsaw must come as a bitter blow to the Poles. The Germans report they have captured the Commander of Warsaw General Bór alias Komorowski. By agreement with the Belgian Government a little over 176 Belgian francs go to the £. The heating ban is to be lifted from next Sunday onward. For gallantry in the Burma campaign a V.C. has been awarded. There were 3 war reports about 3 great air stories viz. the bombing of the Walcheren dyke, the bombing of the Tirpitz and the landing in Greece. Godfrey Talbot reported about the landings in Greece and said we are kicking the Germans hard on the way out. Enemy evacuation attempts are being smashed.
