hands. Rimini is within artillery range. On the West coast we are still advancing and 6 miles north of Pisa. At 8 o'clock this morning hostilities ceased between Finland and Russia. The Germans in Northern Finland must leave before the 15th of September. Sweden reports a stream of German traffic from Northern Finland to Norway. The Russians now hold 130 miles of the frontier between Bulgaria and Romania. The first Yugoslav Spitfire squadron has been formed. In Burma we have cleared 100 miles of the road south of Imphal and we are now 50 miles across the border. The Japanese air force is being bombed out of the Philippines. In these attack the longest fighter flight so far was made. There was no German air activity of any kind over the U.K. last night or this morning.
