Reports that the Americans have liberated
Verdun have been confirmed by the Germans who
say we have already pushed beyond it.
On various points we are less than 20 miles from
the Belgian border on a front of 150 miles.
The German 7th Army is not any longer capable
to resist. General Eberbach commanding
it is in our hands. We have a 12 miles bridgehead
over the Somme. General Patton's men rushed
with a 35 miles an hour speed to Verdun.
