One column 25 miles beyond the Aisne was
last reported outside Laon. The Cheshire
Regiment and the King's Royal Rifle Corps are
named as fighting in France since D-day.
In the Rhone Valley the American troops are
within 6 miles of Valence.
8th Army troops have pushed closer to
the Gothic line. The Germans say we have
reached the Eastern end at Pesaro.
The Russians have advanced 40 miles
in 24 hours and taken Ploesti.
A Romanian armistice delegation
is in Moscow. Armistice terms are expected
to be handed shortly to the Bulgarian
delegation in Cairo.
In the South West Pacific Allied aircraft
have again bombed Halmahera and
Davao.
It is announced that the U.S. navy has
built 65000 vessels amounting to £ 90.000.000
in the last 5 years.
Over 500 British based American heavies
yesterday bombed Bremen and Kiel. Other
heavies attacked the Pas de Calais. Not one
was lost. There have been more flying bombs.
