3 miles from their Nijmegen salient
to the coast today. The small port of
Breskens has been taken by the Canadians.
A Belgian frontier town 20 miles north
of Antwerp has been taken.
A swift Russian thrust is reported
in Northern Hungary. The Germans
report a second Russian spearhead
20 miles inside East Prussia.
In Italy our troops are extending
their bridgehead across the river on the
Rimini - Bologna road. At 12.= pm.
more Russian successes were
given. Mr. Churchill returned from
his visit to Moscow this afternoon
by air. He landed at an airfield
near London and was met by Mrs.
Churchill. The Polish Premier has also
come back but Mr. Eden has not yet
returned. In their attack launched
from the Nijmegen salient toward
