has been off the air. The Germans are
keeping into the background but they did
not release a word about events in
Hungary to their own people. A
curfew has been proclaimed and
a ban has been placed on all sports,
entertainment etc. Shops were told
to open again and labourers were
asked to go to work. Since then
they have been broadcasting a
proclamation so called signed
by Horthy wherein Horthy although
he himself did not broadcast
calls on the army to continue
to fight and he is therein supposed
to have changed his mind.
The usual Budapest Radio announcers
were replaced by Germans. The
full text of Horthy's broadcast of
yesterday is now available. He said
therein that Germany wanted the
occupation of Hungary and whilst
Horthy himself was being detained
the Gestapo invaded the country.
