Today's air attacks started at noon and
lasted some 2 hours. The 1400 Fortresses and
Liberators a.o. attacked Leipzig, Breslau,
Magdeburg, Kassel, Brunswick. There was
intense flak and the Germans used a
smoke screen. Mustangs and Lightnings
destroyed 32 German planes and 15 on the
ground. 51 bombers and -fighters are
missing. Mosquitoes of the air defence of
Great Britain attacked 2 airfields on the
