Red army forces are also only a dozen miles from Cluj (Klausenburg). The Orient express railway from Belgrade to Niš has been cut. All people in Vienna and Southern Austria must dig trenches near the Hungarian border. The Polish Premier has accepted Stalin's invitation to come to Moscow. He is leaving at once. The presence of Mr. Eden suggests that outside military problems political questions will also be under review. In Italy the 5th Army has captured Monte Cechi [?] southeast of Bologna. On the left flank of it the Americans have gained ground. On the Adriatic we also improved our positions. From Greece patrolling is reported. In Albania Sarandë has been liberated. In Italy bad weather cut down air operations but railways and bridges were attacked. Railway yards at Verona were also bombed and shipping in the Northern Adriatic. 800 sorties were flown and 5 of our planes are missing and 3 planes were destroyed. General Maitland Wilson has sent a message to the Greek people. A U.S.A.
